While we feel that our instructors and courses at BadLands are top-notch, we also know that our actions speak louder than words.  Our actions have spoken to countless clients in the past.  Here are just a few of their comments:

Badlands as a whole:

I have never had a bad experience at Badlands.  The instructors are all top notch, been there done that, real world operators.  Their style of instruction allows for a very positive learning environment.  Each instructor is willing and able to spend one on one time with everyone attending the course to help instill the proper fundamentals.  All of the courses I have taken have been very well planned, presented, and always able to adapt to specific needs of the people attending the course.  All course material have been presented in a way that allows everyone to learn in their own way.  Some of the best learning experiences are when the day is over and you are talking with the instructors over dinner.  If you are looking to take a class that will challenge you, conform to “real world” conditions, and are ready to learn from some of best in the business then Badlands is for you.

Basic SWAT

This course breaks the norm.  From the first day on the range you know that you are going to be learning the best techniques from the guys that know what they are talking about.  No time to shine the Oakley’s in this course.  Each day is hard charging and full of action.  When you can feel your buddies rounds go off you know its going to be a good day.  This has a good mix of everything from policy and procedure to down and dirty room clearing and range time.  For those that are getting into SWAT or are looking for a training course this is one you can’t miss.

Thanks for letting me be apart of this great class.  I hope to be seeing you guys again soon.

I ENROLLED MY DEPARTMENT’S NEWLY FORMED TACTICAL UNIT IN THIS COURSE NOT KNOWING WHAT TO EXPECT. I WONDERED WHAT A PLACE IN RURAL OKLAHOMA IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE COULD OFFER. I MUST SAY THAT I HAVE BEEN IN LAW ENFORCEMENT FOR OVER 17 YEARS. DURING THAT TIME I HAVE NOT BEEN INVOLVED IN A MORE INTENSE TRAINING COURSE THAN THE BASIC SWAT COURSE THAT MY TEAM ATTENDED HERE AT BADLANDS. THE INSTRUCTORS WERE TOP OF THE LINE . THEY TRAINED US TO DEATH AND WORKED US INTO THE GROUND. BUT, THE THING THAT IMPRESSED ME MOST WAS THE FACT THAT THE INSTRUCTORS WERE RIGHT BESIDE US ALL THE WAY. THE SHORTEST DAY WE EXPERIENCED WAS 12 HOURS. THIS WAS BY FAR THE BEST TRAINING I HAVE BEEN THROUGH IN A LONG TIME. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BADLANDS FOR ANY SPECIALIZED LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING.

From the point of view of a sportsman rather than a pro, I have to tell you that the whole Badlands experience has been one of the most satisfying adventures I’ve ever enjoyed.  The Long Range Hunting course led to Basic LR Precision Rifle, Advanced Phase 1, some personal pistol instruction and the Sniper Quest and Individual matches.  Each and every one of these has been an eye-opening, challenging and memorable vacation.  They took me from point-blank-range deer hunting to the world of 1000-yd competition, gave me an enjoyable pastime in shooting and handloading, and threw me together with some of the greatest guys I’ll ever have the privilege to call bud.  The atmosphere is friendly – only the subject matter is intimidating.  The instructors have got it all together in one sock, so there is no need for glitzy packaging.  You just come away from it able to do and understand a whole bunch of stuff you never even knew was involved.  Few things in life can make one more grateful.

I attended the Phase II Sniper class in November 2005, and it was great. The instruction was first class! This class was tough, so if you are planning on attending, come in shape. Wear eye protection at night, this comes from a run in with a barbwire fence. Pick your rucksack carefully, you have to hump with that thing. Although this is a tough class, for an old man, it was fun! Steve, Bobby, and Chuck  made sure everyone was doing physically OK during the class, and first aid was available at all times. These guys take care of you out there! As a law enforcement sniper that has attended several classes, this is a must do class. None any better!

I have attended three Badlands sniper courses. The first I paid out of my own pocket. The next two were when I brought my department’s sniper teams to their basic and advanced courses. I had learned so much at the school, I decided to make their course of instruction the basis for our sniper program. The instructors are first rate, and the courses give you information and experience that can save lives. I know several officers whose lives were probably saved in part with the help of these courses. I recommend them without reservation.
