Long Range Precision Rifle

Long Range Precision Rifle

This 4-day course is formatted for the beginning shooter, from both the civilian and law enforcement fields. Our course begins with classroom study where students will learn about their equipment, care of the equipment, range estimation techniques, ballistics, fundamentals of marksmanship, wind reading and wind formulas. Along with those topics, students are taught about how to manage the data book and range cards. In addition to the classroom instruction, students are also given practical field exercises in mirage reading and range estimation.

Students will obtain a 100 yard zero on day 1. Students will return to the range on Day 2 in the afternoon to obtain zeroes to 300 yards, and to practice team firing techniques. Day 3 will push the students out to 600 yards and a qualification course will be completed. After the qualification course is completed, students will be taken to an unknown distance course to put the skills learned into practical application. On day 4, students will be allowed to shoot to 1000 yards and confirm the data they have previously at various distances. Day 4 will end with another challenging unknown distance course. Students will be provided a data book for this course.
